Another concept that we discussed today was open educational resources (OER). These are resources that students and teachers can use for educational and research purposes. Specifically the resources are openly licensed giving people the opportunity to legally learn from information and expand their knowledge in a positive way. The most common website for OER is OER Commons. This is a library of a bunch of resources that are openly licensed for educational purposes.
For my educational technology class, we were also assigned a couple of powerpoint assignments. In the first one we were told to make a powerpoint and then make a show version of it in which we voice record ourself over the slides. While this might be useful if teaching online classes, I don't find it very useful for in class presentations. I believe that you should be teaching directly to your students and tailor the lesson to each of them. You can't have a uniform lesson because each student learns differently. In the next assignment, we were told to use buttons with links. I found this very useful in making the powerpoint interactive. I never knew how to do this before and will definitely utilize it in classroom settings.
Here is a picture of my powerpoint title slide with the voice over insert.
Here is the jeopardy game that I created with the hyperlink buttons

Lauren, I loved reading your response to the blog prompt. You brought in a wonderful point of view about OER, and I like that you linked the OER commons site. In this way, people that read your blog will be able to access the most prevalent site for OER. Also, both of projects look awesome based off of the screenshots! I have not started on assignment #5 yet, but I love how you created the game!
